Where would you want to get better?
Near your family? With a specialist you trust? In the country you still call home? That is where our conversation starts. Not with a list of premiums.
Your priorities, before your policy.
A practical checklist for the conversation: residence, treatment countries, whether the stay is temporary or permanent, existing cover and the points that need written confirmation. This is not an eligibility decision.
Many international health plans start with hospital cover and offer additional benefits. These four building blocks help you understand the choices. What is included, optional or bundled depends on the insurer and the plan.
Care during a hospital admission, whether overnight or for daypatient treatment. A stay of only a few hours can also be a day admission; you do not necessarily need to stay overnight.
Good to know: A specialist appointment inside a hospital is not automatically hospitalisation. Admission status and the policy definitions matter.
02
Care without a hospital or daypatient admission
Outpatient care
This can include GP and specialist consultations, tests, prescribed medicines and therapies such as physiotherapy. The available benefits and limits depend on your plan.
Good to know: Some outpatient treatments may already fall within the core plan. Additional outpatient cover can broaden the benefits; it does not mean every pharmacy purchase is covered.
03
Dental treatment and optical benefits
Dental & Vision
Cover can include dental check-ups and treatment, eyesight tests, glasses and contact lenses. Some plans combine dental and optical benefits, while others arrange them differently.
Good to know: Check reimbursement limits, waiting periods and the rules for major dental treatment. Treatment for eye disease is not the same as an optical benefit.

When appropriate treatment is not available locally
Medical evacuation & repatriation
Evacuation can arrange transport to a suitable medical facility. Medical repatriation can allow return to a country specified in the policy when its medical and contractual conditions are met.
Good to know: These benefits are not a flight home on request. Destination, medical necessity and authorisation depend on the policy and the assistance arrangements.
The building blocks are only part of the choice.
We also consider the area of cover, deductible or cost share, benefit limits and any additional needs. The appropriate combination depends on your circumstances and the available plans.
This is a general explanation, not confirmation of cover. Benefits, module combinations, exclusions, eligibility and any underwriting or authorisation requirements depend on the selected policy.
A WRITTEN EXAMPLE
A clearer picture of your cover.
The Coverage Passport turns a first conversation into a concise written summary of the questions to verify. It is an illustration, not a quote, medical assessment or confirmation of cover.
Is international health insurance the same as travel insurance?
No. Travel medical and long-term health cover have different purposes and conditions. We check planned care, routine treatment, residence and continuity rather than relying on a product label.
Can I choose the country where I receive treatment?
Sometimes, within the policy's geographical area and conditions. Medical necessity, provider rules, limits and prior approval may apply. We check your preferred treatment scenario before recommending cover.
Do I have to change insurer to work with you?
Not necessarily. A review may recommend keeping your current policy. Appointment of a new intermediary depends on the insurer, product, country and existing arrangements.
Are existing medical conditions covered?
There is no blanket answer. Underwriting and accepted terms decide. Do not cancel existing cover before written acceptance and the new terms have been checked.
How are you paid?
We explain the remuneration arrangements and any separate fee before you commit. We do not promise that every offer costs the same through every channel.
