Portugal is home, not necessarily the whole plan
You may be settling near Lisbon, spending long periods in Madeira or dividing time with another country. Your residence, travel pattern and preferred treatment country are different questions. We keep all three visible when assessing international cover.
Public access and private insurance are separate
Portugal's official guidance distinguishes access to healthcare, an SNS user number and the conditions for public payment. Do not assume an administrative number alone settles every cost. Confirm your public position through the official route before deciding what private insurance should add.
Think beyond the visa document
A residence or visa requirement is not the same as a long-term insurance needs assessment. This website does not certify visa acceptance. We examine actual healthcare priorities, including treatment elsewhere and the implications of a future move, subject to available policy terms.
Start with a concrete scenario
For example: living in Portugal, visiting family in Belgium or Poland, and wanting a planned-care option near them. We check whether that scenario can be covered, on what conditions and at what cost. This is cross-border advice, not a claim that Atlas has a Portuguese office.
